Inside the Blog
Sports season moves fast. Between shooting, editing, fulfilling, and chasing down picture day stragglers, the last thing you need is a graphics workflow that caps your earning potential or eats your weekends.
That is exactly what these Next Gen updates are built to fix.
You will see four big improvements to Next Gen. More poses for packages. Lower starting prices. Cleaner extractions when you need them. And a faster path to delivery for studios that already have a fine-tuned workflow.
Here’s everything that is changing, and how to put it to work on your next job.
What’s New in Next Gen
Four updates, one release. Each one is designed to help you sell more without adding hours to your post-production schedule.
- Up to 15 poses per athlete plus a team image, with two new bundles, Extra and Ultra
- Lower starting pricing, making Next Gen accessible for all sizes of businesses.
- Premium Extraction add-on for cleaner cutouts on tricky images
- No Proofing option for faster turnaround on Traditional and Traditional+ jobs
More Pose Flexibility for Premium Packages
The old five-pose ceiling? Gone.
Next Gen now supports up to 15 individual poses plus a team image, for a total of 16 per athlete. We added two new bundles to make it work:
- Extra, for 6 to 10 poses, $3.50 per athlete
- Ultra, for 11 to 15 poses, $5.10 per athlete
Both include 3 graphic options per pose, with additional graphics priced at $0.15 each.
Why does this matter? Because more poses give families more reasons to buy. A multi-sport athlete or a senior with a milestone year is not going to settle for two photos when they can take home a curated set. Bigger pose counts unlock premium tiers, “buy all” offers, and packages that feel worth the price.
If you have ever lost a sale because your top tier looked too similar to your middle one, Extra and Ultra fix that.
Lower Pricing for a Better Starting Point
The updated pricing structure was designed to make Next Gen more accessible for photographers trying graphics for the first time while still supporting premium upsell opportunities for larger packages.
Lower starting prices make it easier for photographers to try Next Gen for the first time, while expanded pose bundles create more opportunities to upsell premium products as order value grows.
The goal isn’t simply lower pricing.
It’s creating more opportunities to increase revenue per job.
We dropped prices on the three core bundles to make Next Gen easier to try, easier to scale, and easier to stack.
The math here is simple. A more affordable starting point means more first-time users, and the new bundle structure gives those photographers a clear path to upsell as they grow. Better margin on every order, with room to grow per-athlete revenue when families want to buy all.
Premium Extraction When the Image Is Tricky
AI extractions still come included with every bundle, and they handle most jobs beautifully. But sports photography is not always a clean background setup.
When you are working with busy backgrounds, intricate props or clothing, or shoot conditions that AI sometimes struggles with, the new Premium Extraction add-on puts a real human in the loop. For $0.35 per image, you get a manually verified extraction that holds up to a closer look.
A few things to know:
- It’s typically a 24 hour in addition to your turnaround
- It works alongside any bundle
- Standard AI extractions are still included and set as your default
Use it when the job calls for it. Skip it when it does not. Either way, the choice is yours.
Skip the Proofing for Speed
If you are running tight delivery deadlines and you trust your submissions, the new No Proofing option lets you skip the proofing step entirely on Traditional and Traditional+ jobs.
Submit, and your graphics go straight to delivery. No back-and-forth. No approval round.
This is built for high-volume photographers with an established Next Gen workflow. If it is your first time using a new template or you want a second look before final delivery, leave proofing on. If you are deep in the season and every hour counts, flipping this switch can shave real time off your turnaround.

Why Editing Services Move the Needle
Across the GotPhoto platform, jobs using editing services consistently see higher order value per athlete compared to jobs without them.
Next Gen is one of the strongest examples of this effect.
By offering more premium-looking products, expanded pose options, and professionally designed graphics, photographers can create packages that feel more valuable to customers — while reducing the amount of manual production work required after the shoot.
Less Time Editing, More Time Growing
For many sports photographers, creating graphics manually becomes one of the biggest bottlenecks during busy seasons.
Instead of spending hours designing and assembling graphics after every shoot, Next Gen allows studios to outsource the production process while still delivering polished, professional products to customers.
For example, many Traditional jobs start at roughly $40 upfront for an entire sports job making it a practical alternative to handling every graphic manually in-house.
That means less time spent editing and more time focused on:
- Shooting additional jobs
- Selling higher-value packages
- Improving customer experience
- Growing the business overall
